Challenge
To empower the management and staff, through increased knowledge and literacy on Sustainability issues, and draft a unique Sustainability Strategy.
The strategy was to be aligned with the business goals, mission and values.

Solution
Veri Connect collaborated with Newpark Hotel management to deliver a comprehensive education and training programme (Climate Action 101) to a team of employees from across the business.
The programme brought the team on a sustainability journey to explore how Climate Change would impact their business and understand what actions they could take to build resilience throughout the organsation.
Together we formulated a strategy with 5 key pillars:
- Energy Efficiency
- Waste & Water Management
- Community Engagement
- Carbon Footprint Reduction
- Ethical Sourcing
Result
The Newpark Hotel formulated their unique Sustainability Strategy to inform all future decisions. A number of key objectives were achieved as part of this project, namely:
- Formation of a “Green Team” to oversee all sustainability efforts within the hotel.
- Certification with Green Hospitality.
- Providing Sustainable Transport solutions for guests and employees.
- Introduction of waste separation systems throughout all operations.
