This course is designed to give you the knowledge and practical skills to take real action on climate change. Here’s what you’ll gain:
- Climate change basics & key terms – you will understand climate change, important terminology, and the impact of land use in Ireland.
- Energy & waste efficiency – you will discover smarter ways to reduce energy use and improve waste management in your organisation.
- Protecting water & wetlands – you will learn why Ireland’s waterways matter and how to measure and monitor water quality.
- Reducing your carbon footprint – you will understand the carbon cycle, carbon sinks, and practical ways to lower your impact.
- Ireland’s unique environment – you will have a chance to explore rich flora, fauna, and diverse habitats around you.
- Hands-on climate action skills – you and your team will gain practical experience with tree planting, water conservation, and citizen science projects.

What is LANTRA accreditation?
LANTRA is an organisation that has over 50 years of ‘Skill Development Experience in the land-based and environmental sector’. Veri Connect has been a certified partner with LANTRA for more than 2 years now, with Climate Action 101 being one of the certified courses we developed and delivered.
Course Structure
The accredited Climate Action 101 course is thoughtfully designed to provide a well-rounded understanding of climate-related topics.
Participants can expect an immersive learning journey encompassing various formats, totalling 14 hours commitment for accreditation with 25 hours of optional e-learning resources, as outlined below:
In-person (2 Field Sessions – 4 hours):
- Embark on practical explorations during two field sessions, each lasting two hours, to enhance your understanding of climate-related phenomena.
Online (5 Sessions – 10 hours):
- Engage in dynamic online sessions spanning five modules, covering topics such as climate change basics, biodiversity conservation, water resources, citizen science, and resource efficiency, totalling 10 hours of interactive learning.
Optional Self-Directed via E-Learning (25 Tools – 25 hours):
- Deepen your knowledge through 25 e-learning tools, allowing you to explore specific aspects of climate action at your own pace.
This course can be partially or fully funded depending on the funding available!
